Fala Lamo

Fala Lamo is a local CSO from North Maluku, Indonesia, founded in 2021 and works with coastal indigenous communities to revitalize customary institutions, strenghten local food systems and support natural resource management efforts.

Marc has supported Fala Lamo as Senior Organizational Development Advisors since 2021 in collaboration with Morro.

Results to date:

  • Accompanied Fala Lamo from startup to $100k annual budget in two years, from various long term funding partners and family foundations

  • Developed a three year strategic plan; 2024 - 2027

  • Established a management team and operational systems

  • Developed and trained staff on designing a community based fisheries monitoring system established using mobile-based data collection tools

JARI

JARI is an NGO from the island of Lombok, Indonesia, founded almost 30 years ago and working to aid in the conservation of marine and coastal environments, while also increasing the participation of local communities in marine research, conservation and education.

Menjadi has been working with JARI since August 2024 and are supporting with:

OELO

Supported OELO to develop funding proposals for:

Maliasili

Assessment of CSO needs around organizational strengthening and identification of partnership opportunities for Maliasili in Indonesia

  • Through desk based research and remote interviews we evaluated existing organisational strengthening and leadership development initiatives in Indonesia

  • Through in-person and remote interviews we assessed the needs and interests of Indonesian conservation CSOs in regards to organizational strengthening support

Planet Indonesia

Marc worked with Planet Indonesia from 2021 - 2024 in two different roles;

  • Technical Advisor- Marine & Fisheries

  • Technical Advisor - Scaling & Partnerships

Key results:

  • Evaluation of five years of mudcrab fisheries data to evaluate fisheries management impacts and inform the program strategy

  • Led an organizational safeguarding review which included the development of an action plan and the establishment of an organizational safeguarding committee to lead safeguarding work moving forwards 

  • Introduced agile management practices to the organization

  • Facilitated the development of two strategic partnerships for the scaling up and deepening of impact across the coastal and marine landscapes where Planet Indonesia works

  • Facilitated strategic clarity on Planet Indonesia’s partnerships-led scaling strategy, including partner selection, impact indicators, partnership practises
